This art pendant features a 28.4mm "Fordite" cabochon set in sterling silver with a hand patina. Fordite (sometimes called Detroit Agate or Motor City Agate) is a durable man made item which is actually finely polished pieces of automotive paint build up from car factories. The paint has hardened sufficiently to allow lapidarists to cut and polish into cabochons to be used for jewelry. The piece hangs from a 18" double black cord with sterling findings. The bail is "cold joined" to the piece and can move freely. The back of the piece features a hand engraved antique car.
